I find myselft quickly overwhelmed with small projects like finishing putting together websites, marketing old websites that I’ve been meaning to get to, paying hosting bills, paying writers and developers, and a million other small tasks.
For the first time, I’m going to try something new. I am going to pay a writer to blog for me. He will blog under his own name, but on my site.
I set him up an author account on a Wordpress blog, arranged the financial terms, gave him the idea for the blog and I’m going to let him run with it.
I have told him that I will pay him a certain amount per blog post, and a max of 60 posts in April.
If this works, I think I will hire other writers to write at other sites. This could be the best thing that I have ever though of. Then again maybe not.
When deciding whether or not to do this, I weighed the factors:
Good:
Less posting for me.
Less research for me.
Less mental time on the blog.
More time to work on marketing.
Bad:
Quality of posts - Just don’t know how good they will be.
Cost could become prohibitive.
Author could just quit anytime.
I don’t like firing people in real life or online.
After writing these out, I then assigned them a number value on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being extremely important and one not mattering very much.
After my number crunching, the “Good” was on top by about 15 points. I’ll let you know how it goes!
UPDATE: His first post was a great one! He uploaded a picture and really posted a quality article!
