While discussing the benefits of networking with a friend, he said, “I could probably get to the moon if I wanted.”

Of course that sounds straight out of left field, but let me explain. He was saying that with a certain number of business contacts, he could meet someone who knows someone who has a cousin (or something like that) that works in Washington D.C.

That person knows someone at The Pentagon who has a friend that works with NASA.

Somewhat like the Six Degrees of Separation theory.

While it may not be possible to get to the moon with your networking alone, it would make it easier.

Next time your thinking about doing something alone, anything from going to the gym to going to Starbucks, invite a business colleague and make it a networking opportunity.
