Christmas Marketing Preparation

February 10th, 2006 · No Comments

There is never a better time to start your Christmas season marketing than now. Here is a sample timeline on how you should structure your advertising and spending your advertising budget.

Let’s assume that you haven’t thought out all of your budget money.

January – April: Renew yearly ads, save money.
May – August: People aren’t thinking about Christmas yet, so save more money.
September – October: Begin brand recognition. This could include banner advertisements for internet marketers and billboards around town for brick and mortar businesses.
November: Begin specific promotions. Start selling high ticket items.
December: Spend as much as you can afford in early-mid December. This is when most shopping will tak place.

Hopefully the money you spent in November on brand recognition will carry you into December with a favorable view, and when people need your product, you will be in the front of their mind.

Then when they are ready to purchase your product, they will see your advertisement and realize they are getting a great deal from a great company.

This method can be used for any season, just adjust the timeline to fit your holiday.

Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and Summer are usually the biggest shopping holiday.
