Achieving Measurable Goals

February 9th, 2006 · No Comments

To me, setting goals has always been similar to getting the oil changed. Yes I know it is important, but I don’t get around to it as much as I should.

Setting goals has two main purposes.

1. Goals show you where you are.

Without ever setting goals it is hard to truly realize where you are. You may know how much money you have, or what your stock is trading at, but until you sit down and figure out where you are, you won’t know what bills need to be paid, or what you P/E ratio is.

Goals help solidify the true picture of where you and/or your company stands.

2. Goals show you where you could be.

In the past year I didn’t set any goals about online earnings…Therefore I never hit them. I have never been truly motivated to reach any particular mark because I never set a goal.

Goals are vital to growth because they decrease the tendency towards mediocrity.

Now that you know goals are important, find out “How to Set Goals“.
